    Also, I've been meaning to ask you--being a Classics enthusiast, do you have a preferred translation of The Metamorphoses? I have Rolfe Humphries on my shelf. It was my father's. I'm just looking to find the most rewarding version, as it's one of the research materials I'll be using for my next book. (Yes, I'm getting ahead of myself.)

    Have I overtly recommended that you look into Anne Carson? I can't remember. She teaches Classics as well as Comparative Literature at the University of Michigan and has written what I believe to be some amazing work. Given your penchant for things ancient and Greek you might find her intriguing. If you want to start with her essays, I'd recommend Eros the Bittersweet.

    You made it a while back in response to one of my blog entries. I think it was in 2008. I was reading them out of a morbid curiosity and came across that quote and thought it was too good to pass up. As I've said before, I feel so different now. I guess I should listen to you more often.

    "A shorter history" is a lovely album. The photos are so dreamlike. I wish the software let me comment on the album as a whole because it is the cohesive mood of the photos as a collection that I really like. Also, that IS pretty much my favorite photo that you have taken of me. I'm always amazed at the gorgeous pictures you get out of that little camera of yours. What was it again?

    Thank you for maintaining the blog. I've tried on various occasions to run a blog for more journalistic or informational purposes and always failed. I admire your success and quite enjoy reading it. It's also good to know that someone else out there is working hard to stay healthy. Shine on you crazy diamond. ;)

    I did indeed notice it. I've been in a weird mood lately, but I promise to get to it as soon as I can. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've done with the place, as the draft I read just reeked of potential. Like, I could see stink lines of potential coming off of it, like that dirty kid in Charlie Brown.
