The Search for the Golden Plum

A small person, whose
face is hidden by deceiving shadows under the hood of a cloak walks up
to you and shakes your hand. She leads you into a large room filled
with other bustling readers of Xenith, and with a podium in the front.
She motions for you to sit while she makes her way to the front.
Standing at the podium she announces:
"Hello! Welcome!
Come in, come in! My name is Kyla, and I'm glad to see that almost
everyone made it. Well, you are all about to embark on a wonderful
journey to lands beyond, and only you will know the outcome. You
see, you have entered a domain where fantasy thrives and imagination runs
wild. You have entered the realm of stories.
"I am your guide, your Game
Master. The quest you are about to embark on is one that may leave
you with sore fingers, but I know you can accomplish it. Your task
is to add to the story that I have started, but please, care not to finish
it. You must then send your part of the story to the GameMaster.
The person whose story I, and my group of advisors," at this you notice
a small cluster of odd looking people with pointy ears and high pointed
hats. They where long robes, and carry wands.
"The story we choose will
be printed for all to see. I will then call everyone back to this
meeting house and ask you to continue the story a little more until it
comes to an end, as all must. Then, we will begin anew.
"If you by any chance miss
a section, I will include a brief synopsis of the last edition."
The GameMaster steps off
the stage and walks toward you. She takes out a small bag and opens
it. "I have little to give you to help you on your quest, but use
this with patience and skill." With that she hands you a new pencil, sharpened
and ready for use. As you smile at the gift you realize the person
in front of you is trying to pass you something. You take a copy
of the story and past the rest back.

Storyline 1, Part 1
Basly solemnly left Gafelin's
house. Where do I start? How will I ever find become a Gem
Holder if I have to put off training to find some stupid plum? Basly thought.
Gafelin is the Holder of
the True Gem. He has selected Basly out of many students to be the
next trainee to become a member of the Counsel of Gems. The Counsel
of Gems are the group of people who take care of the sacred gems, the key
units of life. But Basly is a very impatient boy. Gafelin soon
found that out. He wanted to rush the training. So, to teach
the lad patience and to improve his wit and skill, Gafelin sent him out
to find the Golden Plum.
Basly was very distressed
when he heard the news. Many have set out to find the golden plum,
and all but one have returned home empty handed. One didn't return
home at all.
But Basly loaded his pack
full of food and clothing and important supplies, and started off, glum
and mad...
